Documentaries have always fascinated me, always.
Of course, they have been full of risks too.
"Hope and Expectation" was a 13-episode series I produced near the end of the first term of city councils in Iran, which critically reviewed and evaluated the performance of the first Shiraz City Council.
I created this short work when the eight-year war, which had marked my childhood and adolescence, had just ended. I remember how the war, its images, and emotional residues merged with the memories of a friend who was a doctor.
“‘Treatment" was a documentary where we critically examined the performance of Shiraz Municipality. It was about 15 years ago, and I believe it gave some jolts, although brief and fleeting.
“The Child I Knew” was a project made with the support of my friend Ahmad Kordrostami and deep knowledge, of another friend Dr. Ramin Afshari. This work addressed what many parents and their children reach—the fragile challenges of adolescence and the personality and psychological changes that seem almost impossible to understand.
